About Trackers Mountain Chalets

Trackers is situated against the mountains of the Klein Drakensberg, on the North-Eastern Escarpment. Our delightful self-catering chalets look out over the Lowveld towards the Kruger National Park, and across the exit of the Blyde Canyon. We have guided Bird, Botanical, Ecological and Mountain walks on the farm which last between three to four hours by prior arrangement.

Rooms

Mountain View
This chalet is semi detached. There are five beds per side including a double bed shower / toilet and kitchen en suite.

Canyon View
This chalet has two single beds and shower/toilet and kitchen en suite.

Valley View
This chalet has one double bed and two bunk beds and shower / toilet and kitchen en suite.

Backpackers Lodge
This accommodation has nine rooms, each with two to four single beds. (One room has four bunk beds. The bed arrangement can be changed to suit the occupants) Four of the rooms have shower / toilet en suite and five have access to toilet / shower and bathroom.

Location

East Gate Airport:
Pick up your hire car and travel about 12 km to Hoedspruit. Take the R527 towards the mountains. After about 18km cross the Blyde River and turn left into Driehoek Road. After approximately 6.5km you will see the "TRACKERS" sign on the right hand side.

Gauteng:
To take the scenic route to Trackers you will need to Leave Johannesburg early in the morning taking the N12 and travel east towards Witbank where you will link up with the N4. After you have passed Witbank and Middelburg, look for the R540 and turn left towards Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. If you get to Lydenburg NOT LATER THAN ABOUT MIDDAY, you will have time to take the scenic route to Pilgrims' Rest and Graskop. Take the R532 past the view points including God's Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes, the 3 Rondawels etc. (The latter is the most spectacular!). Then turn right into the R36 for Orighstad and the Strijdom Tunnel and then on to "TRACKERS".

Orpen Gate Kruger National Park:
Travel for 40 km until you reach the R40. Turn right and after approx. 2 km, the road forks. Keep left and go under the bridge. The road becomes the R531. Go for approx. 18 - 20 km towards the mountains and you will see signboards for Swadini and Trackers on the left hand side. Go along this road for approx. 5 km and then turn right along the road to Jonkmanspruit. Travel for approx. 7 km and look for the "TRACKERS" sign on the left hand side.

Phalaborwa Gate Kruger National Park:
Travel on the R40 to Hoedspruit then turn right onto the R527, heading towards the mountains. Travel for approx. 18 km, then just after the bridge over the Blyde River turn left onto Driehoek road . Go for approx 6,5 km. Look for the "TRACKERS" sign on the right hand side.

Strydom Tunnel:
Travel for 25 km on the R36 and R527 towards Hoedspruit, and turn right just before the Blyde River bridge, along the Driehoek Rd. After about 6,5km you will see the "TRACKERS" sign on the right hand side.

Other

We have guided walks on the farm which last between three to four hours by prior arrangement. Walks are R70 per person with a minimum of R140. Choose from one of our specialty walks or choose a combination.
